About the Doctor
Dr. Harrington & former NY Giant
Hall of Famer Harry Carson
In striving for excellence to improve and constantly update her knowledge, Dr. Laura Harrington regularly attends postgraduate seminars. In 2006, she became a Distingushed Fellow of Chiropractic BioPhysics (AKA Chiropractic Biomechanics of Posture) which focuses on restoring normal posture and spinal alignment through specific adjustments, exercises, and corrective traction. She is one of only two chiropractors in the Syracuse area who are certified in this technique. Through other seminars, she has increased her competency in managing soft tissue injuries and adjusting pregnant women and children. She completed postgraduate courses in whiplash case management, nutrition and natural medicine, back pain and golf, activator methods, Thompson technique, craniopathy, and myofascial trigger point therapy. She is certified in flexion-distraction technique, Receptor-Tonus method (a.k.a. Nimmo Technique), and Applied Kinesiology.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Harrington regularly guest lectures for the Doctors Speakers Bureau. Previously, she was the Syracuse district president for the New York Chiorpractic Council. This statewide professional organization's mission is to direct people to the realization that healing comes from within and that ultimately the promotion of health and wellness is superior to the treatment of disease. Dr. Harrington was an instructor for many years at Bryant and Stratton College and the staff chiropractor to the Syracuse Sting professional football team. She was an adjunct technician at the National Institutes of Health where her research is published in Hormone Research.
Dr. Harrington completed her undergraduate studies at Hartwick College receiving a Bachelor degree in Biology before earning her Doctorate degree in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College.
Dr. Harrington is actively involved in the community. She is a
member and past president of the Liverpool Rotary Club. In 2009,
she was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation. She
sponsors and volunteers for Liverpool is the Place, which hosts
the summer concerts in Johnson Park and winter concerts at the
Liverpool Public Library. She is past chairperson for the Liverpool
Housing Authority which oversees the House at 807. Dr. Harrington
believes in keeping fit and active. Besides healthy eating, she
